Sunstroke in Venice

Hi everyone, we have a cool new blog address that is simpler to remember than this one. Check us out at www.MissGuitarblog.com, follow our progress around the mediterranean and make sure to leave lots of comments – we love your company!!!

We just went to Venice yesterday, and alas! I got sunstroke.  Well it kindof snuck up on me after spending 6 hours doing some filming for our new video “Tell me in the Rain’.    We were walking and filming, walking and filming and did I forget to eat? Sure did.  So…as we were heading back to the ship I started feeling exhausted and hyperventalating – not a good sign.  WE had to take a water taxi back to our ship and then a kind (and cute) Italian guy drove me the rest of the way.

I got to the ship and crashed in my cabin for 10 minutes and then had to perform 3 sets.  Man, I didnt think I was going to make it.  But after getting some food and rehydrating with lots of “aqua” I was brand-spankin’ new. So check out our absolutely gorgeous pics of Venice.  We found this cute little cafe where a guy named Michael let us film there, so it will be part of the video.

We also met a very cool couple from Chester England (Matt and Louise) and chatted a bit while I enjoyed a cappucino (ofcourse).  They had taken the train from England down to Paris for the night then off to Venice for a jaunt. Ladeeda!  Imagine where we would end up in Canada if we traveled on a train for several hours.  Just trees, more trees and did I say trees!!

Well I will be posting these pics, so hope you enjoy them.  And send me a post. Take care.

What a trip so far!!!

Well let me tell ya…Lots of stuff going on here.  As you know we were told our drummer couldnt make it.  He got sick with some weird flew half way to Italy, and with all the ship regulations these days, they probably wouldnt have let him on anyway.  so…stressed out was the word for the day.  Here we are in Rome having to connect with our agent through the internet using Skipe. But…there were no adaptors to plug our computers in because the electricity is on a different voltage.  So we used up my computer battery and Tony’s to correspond, otherwise it would’ve costed us a small fortune to be using the phone’s as you can well imagine.

Anyways, we got to the ship and still didnt know what on God’s green earth we were going to do without a drummer.  And speaking of God, looks like He already had it all planned out.  When we got on the ship we were informed that there was a guy who was a waiter and also guess what….you guessed, a drummer!! How cool is that.  His name is Angga and He’s from Indonisia and plays in bands back home.  So we have Angga the waiter/drummer helping us out till we get a permanent drummer next Thursday!!

And what else,  well we couldnt respond any earlier because the ship is a very tricky, procedural environment.  We first of all needed to get “processed” as they call it.  We needed to get pictures, for our “Sea Pass”. For you non-cruisers, a sea pass allows you to buy things on the ship.  It allows us also to use the internet.  So we didnt get it till today.  But “ships ahoy!!”  I have been taking lots of absolutely scrumptious pictures, which I will be uploading.  and some pics are of my room and how “HUGE” it is. LOL. So for all of you who wish you could be here you may change your mind when you see my room – not too much bigger than my foyer! No really!

Anywho! We are safe and sound and everyday we have safety training to attend -yawn!! But it must be done and it’s two full weeks of it, even though we are only here form 6 weeks.  I will be soon posing some great pics so check it out and I still have some pics from back home as I was saying goodby to Christine, Jackie etc.. that I coulnt download till soon.

Okeedokee. Talk soon and thanks everyone for your hellos.

Hi y’all.  I have some unfortunate news…Our drummer Rick was in Transit to Rome and got very ill.  He had to return home to Detroit and is now seeing his doctor.  We hope he is Ok.  We are now scrambling to find another drummer.  Looks like it will take around 10 day to process someone, so we will be gigging without a drummer.  Not a great way to start but we will make the best of it.  We’ll keep you posted
